How to Glow Up Mentally

The definition of a “glow up” can extend way beyond physical appearance. A glow up can be described as a “mental, physical, and emotional transformation for the better“. Glow Ups can be both natural or planned. As well as being gradual and permanent or fast and temporary. Here I am talking about planned mental glow up.
So, these are some steps for mental glow up:

  1. Improve self-confidence and self-love.
Schedule Self-Care Days. Self-care is probably the most obvious way you can focus on your mental health and glow up your mind! Set aside one day a week to take care of yourself, for me it’s Saturday, then I often go shopping, clean the room, light scented candles, put on a face mask and watch the series.
  2. New knowledge
Read more books, join the library, even though you don’t have any desire to start reading, I’m sure you’ll like it. When I first started, I didn’t have a great desire to read until I borrowed a self-care book and decided to read for half an hour every day. Sometimes I would read for more than half an hour because I had a routine. I haven’t read much lately, so I’m trying to correct it now.
  3. Stronger relationships
If you get along better with family and friends, you will feel better. Of course, it should always be noted that it is important to choose the people around us. Choose the ones that motivate you, are happy with your success, and help you become a better version of yourself.
  4. Improve organization and productivity
When my apartment is clean, and everything is somehow aesthetically arranged, I feel great, like the main character in a series. I think it sometimes helps to think and act as if you are in a series to be filmed, then you will feel important and the whole day will be better for you.
  5. Reduce stress and anxiety
Here I think meditation can help, at least that’s what helps me when I’m stressed, reading self-help books, maybe even listening to songs.
  6. Detox. Your Social Media.
Sometimes it’s important to stay away from Tiktok or Instagram… especially lately I’ve noticed that I was in a way addicted to Tiktok, I would spend over 4-5 hours on it, which, of course, is not good. To reduce the use of tiktok, I used one application that would prevent entering the application after 1 hour of use per day. When I don’t use so much tiktok I get to do a lot of things that tiktok would distract me from.
  7. Journal More.
Honestly, I always have a problem with writing in a diary. I’m too lazy to write every night even though I think it’s very important. I noticed that when I write down what happened to me during the day and everything that worries me in the diary before bed, I fall asleep easier. Probably when we go to bed, we think about everything and everything, and sometimes it really lasts, so we often don’t get enough sleep. That’s why I try to write as much as I can, especially if I have a bad day.
  8. Spend Time Outside Daily.
I’m not talking about going out with friends here, of course, and that’s important, but it’s even more important to go out by yourself and with your thoughts. Sometimes go for a morning walk listening to music that calms you down. Walks like this are great because while walking you can think about something important, and you can just rest in peace and not think about anything.

For the end, I just want to wish you a lot of success with improving yourself. I hope you manage to incorporate some of these steps into your routine, good luck.
