A self-care day – mental health day – is a day that you completely dedicate to self-care. I always recommend taking at least one self-care day a week to really look after your mental health. Everyone approaches self-care differently. For some people, self-care means settling down on the sofa with a good book. For others maybe shopping, workout, studying, watching tv shows, time with family… For me, self-care day reduce stress, improve concentration, minimize frustration and anger, increase happiness and improve my energy. I’m gonna give you tips which work for me, about having a relaxing day at home:
“The biggest love we’re all searching for is the love for one’s self.”RM
Tell people you’ll be unavailable
Unless your self-care day involves getting together with friends and family, let them know you’re taking a day out.
Wake up early
Make the most of your self-care day by waking up early. There’s something very motivating about waking early with purpose, so use that to start your self-care routine off the right way. also plan your self-care day activities.
You don’t need a better excuse than a self-care day to get comfy. Spend the day in your cosiest loungewear. Let what you’re wearing feel effortless. If you’re heading out, swap your loungewear for some comfortable athletic wear or your favourite pair of jeans.
Go for a walk
There’s something very calming and refreshing about going for a walk. Whether you go for a stroll around the neighbourhood or drive to wander along the coast, the fresh air can do wonders for how you feel. I personally love to get out for a walk while listening to songs or potcast- I find it so relaxing.
It can be one of the best forms of self-care. We don’t give ourselves much time throughout the course of the day to just let our minds be. Meditation is the perfect way to focus inward and acknowledge all of the thoughts and feelings you’ve been neglecting.
Take a bath
Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself after a long—maybe difficult—day is to take a nice warm bath. Make the space as relaxing as possible: light some candles, play some peaceful music, and throw in some detoxifying bath salts.
Put on a face mask.
Whenever I wanna relax I always put on a sheet face mask, they make my skin look so good and also left me feeling amazing.
Have a cup of tea.
Drinking a warm drink could help you cool down. Also having a cup of tea makes me feel like the main character, I don’t know why.
